With Halloween drawing closer local police have tips for kids and parents so it can be an enjoyable evening of trick or treating.
KL OPP Acting Staff Sergeant Ryan Dougan says for kids “carry a flashlight with you. Be visible, dark clothing obviously doesn’t reflect as well for headlights. Look both ways before crossing the street, don’t cross between intersections. If you are going to trick or treat up one side of the road make sure you stick to that side and then cross at an intersection.”
He adds that parents must always check the treats that the kids receive to make sure they are safe.
