TSN’s John Shannon says of the new player: “Add Foegele to the list of Oilers now training in suburban Toronto with Gary Roberts. McDavid, Nurse, Hyman, Foegele.”

And Bob Stauffer of the Oilers said: “Foegele has an opportunity to likely play 15+ mins a game in Edmonton in a top-9 role.
He has had 3 straight seasons of double-digit goals, and is strong on pucks and draws calls because of his willingness to drive the net. An important add to improve the Oilers depth up front.”

Foegele was acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes in a trade for popular d-man Ethan Bear. In the last few years Foegele has scored like a second-like forward in the NHL, 1.83 points per 60, good for 160th out of 451 regular NHL forwards.
